The Bar

The Courtney Room showcases a wine list that represents the best of varietals and regions. British Columbia wines are well represented, several from Vancouver & the Gulf Islands, as well as international wines that show the best of each region. The wine list was awarded the Silver Wine Program Excellence Award at the 2019 Vancouver Wine Festival.

The cocktail menu includes some local spirits and includes classic cocktails, as well as some creative house made concoctions. Craft beer and cider are also well represented, including a selection from Vancouver Island.

The Food

Drawing inspiration from classic cooking techniques with a focus on Pacific Northwest cuisine, The Courtney Room offers the best ingredients from the land and sea. Chef Brian Tesolin pays respect to the island’s terroir through his seasonally cultivated menu. Our partnerships with local farmers allows us to highlight the local community and its bounty.

Chef Tesolin joins The Courtney Room team with experience spanning the country from highly respected culinary meccas (Hawksworth Restaurant, Vancouver, BC and Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa, Cambridge, ON). Chef Tesolin is passionate about working with bright flavours and elements that bring a wow-factor to the simplest dishes.

The Room

Taking cues from the old grand dame hotels of Paris, Sharon Bortolotto of BBA Design was inspired by the classic French bistro. The Courtney Room boasts high ceilings, and is layered with elements of Art Nouveau to create a casually elegant ambience. Focal features include commissioned artwork by Blu Smith in an abstract expressionist style and a central black granite bar framed between two paneled wood columns with white marble chevron detail – a place to gather and be seen.

Enter the brasserie, with banquette seating, high-top tables and gray marble bar with glass oyster station. Enjoy an elegant brunch, a lively happy hour or casual dinner with friends.

Upstairs at The Courtney Room provides an elevated dining experience in a carpeted space with a glassed-in wine room. Open for dinner, enjoy fresh seafood and house dry-aged steak, or take a tasting journey with the Chef’s Tasting Menu.
